Visiting “Mercados” at the Mexico City Spanish Immersion

When you come to Mexico City for the first time, it can be overwhelming. There’s so much to see, so much to do, so much to take in. A vast culture and millions of years of history all in one beautiful place. That’s why so many of our participants are doubly excited when they choose to come to the Fluenz Spanish Immersion: it’s a week of luxurious Spanish with a special Mexican experience. Exclusive restaurants and art tours, private talks, and a series of informal immersion events to practice Spanish throughout. Among the things we love to do is take our cohorts to the traditional mercados or markets, because you haven’t really visited Mexico if you don’t go to one.

Mercados in Mexico come in all shapes and sizes. They are multiple-vendor markets—with the most traditional are held only on certain days—filled with everything from produce to antiques to spell-casting materials. They are a feast for the senses and they’re quite unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Colors, smells, sounds, taste, all in one bustling space. It’s well worth the trip to one, plus you’ll probably get the most exotic souvenirs.

Come get fluent in Spanish and experience Mexico like never before. We’ll wait for you when we open back up! Need a brochure? Write us at guestcare@fluenz.com
