Food, Spanish and Mexico: a recipe for success at the Fluenz Spanish Immersions

Food, Spanish and Mexico, they just seem to go very well together. There’s just something very exciting about learning Spanish in a vibrant city, while staying in a beautiful mansion and enjoying the exquisite local cuisine. Just ask anyone who has attended our Fluenz immersions in Mexico.

Not only is Mexico one of the most interesting cities in the world— rich in history, culture and traditions—it also has one of the most ancient and complex cuisines in the world.

Mexican cuisine has thousands of years of history, going back to the Aztec and  Maya civilizations. It’s full of flavor and it uses all kinds of fresh and unique ingredients to make delectable dishes. On a side note: it also has some very unusual foods like grasshoppers, escamoles (ant larvae) and gusanos de maguey (worms), oh yeah!

Furthermore, Mexican cuisine is an important part of the culture, social structure and popular traditions, and in 2010 it was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Culture Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

That’s why our Spanish Immersions are so unbelievable. Where else will you find a program that produces results while being on the adventure of a lifetime? Just imagine: learning Spanish, strolling through Polanco, eating mole, chilaquiles or tacos al pastor. Wow.
